The Customs House Museum’s Boehm porcelain collection is one of the largest in the Southeast. It includes dozens of beautifully detailed birds and flowers that are a must-see for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature and the intricacies of Edward Marshall Boehm’s craftsmanship.
This gallery is named in honor of Dr. and Mrs. DeWald without whose generosity much of the collection would not be on display for Museum visitors to enjoy. The DeWald Gallery was completed and opened to the public on August 21, 2003. The DeWalds have been active in many philanthropic, community-focused activities and causes.
