Student Group Tours
The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center is one of the largest general interest museums in Tennessee, and we want to share our offerings with you. Student groups can tour the Museum’s permanent exhibits – from an original 1840s log house to displays on local sports history – while also enjoying works from world-renowned artists. Guided tours include an open dialog with students that challenges their thinking and provides an opportunity for creative problem-solving.
Student group tours are available throughout the academic year, along with self-guided scavenger hunts. Contact Sue Lewis, Curator of Education, at 931-648-5780 ext. 2028 for information.
I am always eager to ‘connect the dots’ that help fulfill many of your curriculum objectives. Let me know what you are studying, and I’ll work to create a tour to meet your needs.-Sue Lewis, Curator of Education
CMCSS students and staff receive free admission when visiting on a scheduled school field trip. Non-staff chaperones pay $5 per ticket.
Museum Tours for Adults
Gallery presentations for groups of 10 or more adults are available Tuesday through Friday when requested two weeks in advance. A member of the education department will greet your group, give an overview of the exhibits and will be available in the galleries to answer questions. For more information or special requests, contact Sue Lewis at 931-648-5780 ext. 2028.
