Flying High 39 is hustling back to the 1970s for an elegant and entertaining evening to support the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center. 

Celebrate good times and join us at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel on Saturday, August 19 for our 39th annual fundraising gala. Bid on exceptional works of art and unique experiences, enjoy a divine dinner and dance the night away at the grooviest party in town. 

Your most glamourous disco-inspired evening attire is encouraged. C’est chic!

What is the dress code? 

Flying High is a formal event. While it is not a costume party, we encourage our guests to be creative with our theme. Tuxedos and gowns are not required, but it is a great opportunity to break them out if you have them! 

Your most glamourous disco-inspired evening attire is encouraged. Disco-inspired outfits could include sequins, jumpsuits, statement sleeves, fun prints, bold colors and so much more. You also can’t go wrong with a classic suit or little black dress. C’est chic! 

Where should I park? 

There is ample parking available at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel. The hotel entrance is closest to the Grandstand Ballroom. 

How can I register for the live and silent auctions?

This event uses Qtego mobile bidding. You can pre-register for the auctions when you purchase tickets, or click here to register and learn more.

What is available in the live and silent auctions? 

The Flying High auctions are full of one-of-a-kind artworks, unique experiences and fabulous local goods and services. Follow the Museum on social media for sneak peaks of auction items leading up to August 19! 

I’m buying an individual ticket – how will I know where to sit? 

Individual ticket holders will have a table assigned to them, and all tickets purchased together will be seated together. There is no guarantee that individual tickets purchased separately will be seated together.  

Are hotel rooms available at the venue? 

A variety of different rooms and suites are available at Oak Grove, and a block of rooms has been reserved for Flying High attendees. To receive a discounted room rate, contact Oak Grove directly at 270-984-4200 and state that you are attending Flying High 2023.  

What do the proceeds from this event support? 

The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the story of our community. Your involvement in events like Flying High is vital to sustaining our mission and will have an immediate impact. Funds raised at Flying High help us care for the artifacts in our collection, produce award-winning exhibits and provide unique educational programming for Clarksvillians of all ages.

Indulge at this evening soiree filled with luscious desserts, drinks, food and live music. Treat yourself to something special by bidding in the silent auction to support the operation of the Museum. Check back later for more information about 2024’s event!

First Thursday Art Walk
First Thursdays, 5-8 PM

Be inspired by the works of local artists as the Museum participates in a community-wide, self-guided tour of artistic displays at a variety of downtown businesses. This event is produced by the Downtown Clarksville Association, and admission is free. The Museum is open with free admission each Art Walk from 5-8 p.m.

Fifth Saturday Donation Day
April 29, July 29, September 30 and December 30, 2023

Fifth Saturday is Donation Day! Any month with five Saturdays, on the fifth Saturday any monetary donation to the Museum is your admission. All donations directly support the Museum in creating educational programming for children and adults, preserving our historical collection and supporting our award-winning exhibitions.

Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day

This is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. Check back later for more information!
