History on the Rocks

The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center’s Second & Commerce magazine invites the public to our History on the Rocks event at Old Glory Restaurant at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Join us for this listen and learn happy hour featuring artists and writers from the Spring issue of Second and Commerce. Hear from artists and writers featured in the magazine: Cresta McGowan will chat about the Clarksville Writers Conference 20^th anniversary; Karen Bullis introduces her documentary film on Girls’ Flag Football in Montgomery County; and artists from Unbannable Library discuss the recent book bans and the project’s importance.

We will have prizes for a brief trivia challenge, which will center on subjects from the talks with artists and writers and the stories in the magazine.

This History on the Rocks event at Old Glory Restaurant is open to the public. Patrons will purchase their own food and drinks and will be able to choose from a selection of specialty cocktails for the event, featuring spring-inspired drinks based on the magazine articles. A select appetizer, dinner and dessert menu will be available.

History on the Rocks is the premiere event of Second & Commerce magazine. Sharing Clarksville’s history, arts and culture, Second & Commerce is published seasonally, four times a year. Second & Commerce is an award-winning publication, placing in publications at the Southeastern Museum Conference and the Tennessee Association of Museums. It is distributed as a free publication across Clarksville/Montgomery County.
