Neil Crockarell was a dress designer born in 1939 in Clarksville, Tennessee. He graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts in fashion design. He then opened a dress shop in Nashville that catered to the “upper society”. Neil was known for his formal wear for the Swan Bell ladies. After closing shop and moving to Palmyra to concentrate on his art, his former clients soon found him and he went back to dressmaking. This exhibit includes his art, clothing, and a recreation of his sewing room.
