In Memory Lane, enter the actual log house built by Barnabas Powers and his wife Susanna in 1842. Lived in by the Powers family until 1919, it is a fascinating glimpse of what life was like for settlers in 19th century Clarksville and the surrounding area. Then, drop into the Family Art Studio and, using a variety of materials and supplies provided by the museum, create a model of a 19th century log cabin home site. Plus, you’ll get to examine up-close and personal, actual historical artifacts from our Education Collection that are objects similar to the ones on display in the Powers Log House. Can you tell what each one was used for?
